WHERE WE BEGAN…..

Yinka and Caroline met in Liverpool whilst university students in 2006. For Caroline she found her early years at University particularly difficult due to the lack of visible positive female role models. She did not want other young women coming up behind her to have a similar experience.

Fast forward to July 2012, She Is You launched their first event in Croydon, South London and what was once a vision became a reality. Yinka and Caroline, came together as friends with a shared passion for young women like themselves. They knew they wanted to do something about this and this is where the seed for She Is You was planted.

She is passionate about the personal development of young people/women. Her desire to see young women be presented with positive role models was fuelled during her time at University, after moving away from home, away from friends and family into a totally new city. A lack of positive female role models at the time made her university experience even more challenging. Through She Is You, Carolines’ desire is to see young women achieve their full potential by providing them with a platform where they can discuss the issues that matter to them, hear from older wiser women and ultimately gain access to the tools and knowledge to make better informed decisions for their life.

I absolutely love treating and caring for people but I’m also passionate about female development – I LOVE working with ladies and encouraging them to trulylove and value themselves and ultimately be the best they can be! Growing up as a young girl in London I found it difficult to imagine how I would achieve my dreams because I lacked a lot of confidence in my own abilities. Looking around me I found it difficult to identify role models who could help me raise my self-esteem and really believe that I could achieve. Hence why She Is You is so dear to my heart Family is very important to me so I spend a lot of my spare time at home cooking, laughing and generally having a great time with my parents and siblings.
