At the heart of personal and professional growth lies the ability to articulate one’s unique story and skills effectively. Recognizing this, She Is You recently had the privilege of collaborating with Sasha Gay Smith, the founder of ‘I AM IN ME,’ to guide a group of Year 10 students from St Gabriel’s College on the fundamentals of crafting a compelling CV. In an era where self-presentation is paramount, empowering young individuals with these foundational skills is a cornerstone in their journey towards realizing their full potential.

Guiding Light on CV Basics: The workshop started with an interactive session where students were encouraged to reflect on their personal strengths, interests, and accomplishments. Through engaging activities and discussions, they gained insight into the importance of self-awareness in shaping a compelling CV that truly reflects their individuality.

Moreover, we emphasized the significance of authenticity and honesty in CV writing. In a world often dominated by buzzwords and generic templates, we encouraged students to embrace their unique experiences and perspectives, recognizing that these are what truly set them apart in a competitive job market.

As the workshop drew to a close, the energy in the room was amazing. With newfound knowledge and confidence, the Year 10 students from St Gabriel’s College embarked on their journey towards crafting their own CVs with a sense of purpose and self-assurance. More importantly, they left with a deeper understanding of themselves – their strengths, aspirations, and the value they bring to the table.
